The healing lye and mud pools in the south part of the Atanasovsko Lake are the largest free outdoor “SPA centre” in the country. All locals know the place and recently more and more visitors are learning about it. The healing mud is a sedimentary product of the enclosed saline lake and the black mud is a proven treatment for different illnesses.

Bird-watching Hide

The Hide-away is in the protected area “Burgas Salt Pans” – it is described as one with the most birds in Bulgaria. The hide-away is built after an English model and meets all current requirements for this type of equipment. It has specially built viewing windows which allow for optimal observation of the birds in the water pool, while they’re feeding or resting.

Atanasovsko Lake

The Atanasovsko lake is located near Burgas, on the southern coast and was declared as a reserve. Here is homeplace to over 300 bird species. Some of them are threatened with extinction worldwide. The lake is one of the three Burgas Lakes. It is connected with the Black Sea through multiple channels. That is why the lake is salty.
