The cathedral “St. St Kiril & Metodii” is the biggest, oldest and one of the most beautiful Orthodox Churches in the city of Burgas. It was built during the period 1895-1907.
One of the main symbols of Burgas is the cathedral “St. St Kiril & Metodii”, one of the oldest Christian temples in the city. Its foundations were laid in 1895, but was completed only in 1907. The church is a three-nave basilica. On the beautiful stained glass at the main entrance are portrays the holy brothers Kiril & Metodii. Authors of the unique frescoes here are the famous Bulgarian painters prof. Gyudzhenov and Kozhuharov, best known for their work in the cathedral “St. Alexander Nevski” in Sofia.
